Hello! My name is Elizabeth Hemmi and I am so excited to serve WISD as a Special Education Paraprofessional. This is my first year working for the school district and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be here! I am from Archer City and I am a 2015 Midwestern State University graduate.

My husband, Cole, and I have been married since 2015 and have a little boy, Grant, who will be two this fall. We are also expecting another baby boy in December. I look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting those I have yet to get a chance to meet!

Hello all! My name is Andrea Koetter. I graduated from MSU in 2010. I taught at WFISD for 10 years. I am very excited to start my 11th year of teaching at WISD.

Hello! My name is Valeria Jackson. I am so excited to be apart of WISD. This will be my first year teaching but I have worked for WFISD for 12 years. I have been married for 23 years to an amazing husband. We have 2 grown boys and a daughter in law. We also have to crazy fur babies. In my spare time I love to binge watch Netflix!

Hello, my name is Olga Saldarriaga and I’m thrilled to be joining the Windthorst ISD, I had the pleasure of working for WFISD at Lamar Elementary for the past 8 years, but since moving to the country 3 years ago I’ve being dreaming to find a closer place to home that I can contribute my talents to this community and I’m very happy that Windthorst ISD is that place. I live in Clay county with my artist husband of 42 yrs. we have 3 wonderful sons and one yr old grand baby. I enjoy working in the garden, cycling, swimming, but most of all I love working with kids and guide them to discover their God given talents to achieve their potential, I am looking forward to be part of this beautiful community.

Hi, everyone! My name is Stefanie Hoffman. I was born and raised in the beautiful Appalachians of Oakland, Maryland and graduated from Southern Garrett High School in 2004. I attended Garrett College then transferred to Frostburg State University where I studied Sociology. Not long after completing my first year at FSU, I made the decision to move to Texas in 2008. I met my amazing husband, Michael, 4 months later through a mutual friend. We have been married for 13 years and have 3 handsome sons together: Shae, Luke, and Kash. After being a stay at home mom for 11 beautiful years, I decided to get back out into the workforce. I feel very fortunate and blessed to be given this opportunity to work where my babies attend school and to be a part of the WISD family as the new High School Receptionist. I look forward to meeting everyone and getting to know all of these amazing kiddos throughout this school year!  

Hello, my name is Leno Plascencia and I’ve lived in Windthorst for 25 years. I have four daughters, two of which have graduated from WHS. I have seven grandkids. I joined the Windthorst Staff as a custodian because I retired from Steinberger Drilling two years ago.

Hi. My name is Janice Sons. I have been a teacher’s aide at Windthorst since 2006. My husband, James, and I have been married for 40 years. We have 3 children Jamie, Justin, and Jordan. We also have 2 beautiful granddaughters, Bella and Olivia.

Hi, my name is Shelby Wolf. I graduated from Windthorst High School in 2004 and Texas A&M University in 2008. I started teaching in 2012, and I am very excited to be coming home to teach at Windthorst. I have been married to Ross for 10 years, and we have two children. Barrett will be in 3rd grade and Emma will be in 1st grade. In my free time, I enjoy reading, gardening, and watching my kids play sports. I am looking forward to a great year at Windthorst ISD!

Hi, my name is Allison Bussey. I am a graduate of Windthorst High School and attended college at Midwestern State University. This is my 8th year teaching at Windthorst. I teach 6th grade math along with PE classes. I also coach volleyball, basketball, and track. My husband’s name is Jake, and we have 4 children: Karsyn (9), Kendall (7), Khyler (3), and Curry (10 months)

Meet Ana Larios. Ana graduated from Windthorst HS in 1997 and has worked for WISD for 19 year as a teacher’s aide.  Ana and her husband, Mauricio, have been married for 19 years and live in Scotland, Texas. Ana enjoys working at school and in her spare time she enjoys drawing and working in her garden. We are lucky to have Ana as part of our team here at Windthorst ISD.

Hello, my name is Daniel Barton. After being self employed for 11 years, I decided it was time to return to the workforce. I  enjoy my role as Director of Operations and Maintenance at WISD, while continuing to operate my personal business on the side. My passion is helping people and being a problem solver, so what better place to be than WISD – where I get to see my kids daily, Adam (7^th grade), Ellie (4^th grade) and Lyla (Kinder). Me and my wife, Jenny (WISD class of 2000), are very active in our kids’ extracurricular activities, school organizations, and Church. We are currently in the sweet spot of life and enjoy watching our kiddos and all their friends live their best life!

Meet Ann Bugarin Cabrera. Ann works in the maintenance department and keeps the elementary building running and clean. Ann lives in Antelope, TX. Ann has been at Windthorst ISD for 7 years. Ann’s favorite part of her job is being around the kids and staff every day. Ann is an important part of our team here at Windthorst ISD.

My name is Melanie Beisch and I currently teach Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy & Physiology, IPC, and Forensics.  I also serve as the UIL coordinator and the NHS and senior sponsor.  I started teaching at Windthorst in 2010.  I previously taught for 20 years at Zundy Junior High.  I graduated from MSU with my bachelor’s and master’s degrees.  Rusty and I have been married since 1989 and have 2 children Emily Kirk (’12) works for Colorado Parks and Wildlife and Alec (’16) works for WISD in the technology department.  In my spare time, I like to read, support the Trojans and Trojanettes, and travel.

Hi, my name is Stacey Steinberger and this is my second year at Windthorst ISD. I graduated from here in 1989 and earned a Marketing Degree at Midwestern State University in 1993. I am employed in the school cafeteria. I have been married to Chad Steinberger (WHS ’90) for 25 years and we have four boys.
Garrett (WHS ’14) graduated from Texas A&M in 2018 and resides in College Station. He is engaged to be married to Jordyn Senkirik and they plan to wed in 2020. I am so excited to finally be getting a daughter! Gage (WHS ’17) received his certification in Farm & Ranch Management from VRJC and lives in Windthorst. Gavin is a Senior and Grayson is a Freshman here at WISD.
A few things I enjoy are attending all my kids’ activities, baking, taking long walks and hanging out with friends and family.

2021-2022 starts my 21st year at the best job ever. –  I am the High School / Junior High Secretary and I also run the Library for Pre-K thru 12th Grade.   Bob and I have been married for 39 years, and have 3 great kids + our bonus kids –  Chance (Son) & Ashley,  Kenda (Daughter) & Justin,  Rusty (Son) & Candi  –  who have blessed us with 7 amazing grandkids; Kastin, Libby, Johnston, London, Raylynn, Remi and 1 little angel, Chase, watching over us!!  My favorite things to do is to  go to my grandkids activities, babysit them and work in my yard !!

Hello! Meet Scotty and Kim Lofland. He’s been a high school coach and has been teaching  4th/5th grades in Windthorst since 2006, and she’s been teaching Pre-K and first grade since 2009. He graduated high school in Holliday, and she graduated from Rider in Wichita Falls. They both graduated from MSU. They’ve been married for 25 years and have 2 boys, Tim and Ben. Tim graduated from Windthorst in 2018, and Ben graduated in 2021. In their spare time, he likes to drag her birdwatching, and she likes to drag him into house renovations.

Hey, my name is Sharla Wadsworth.  I graduated from Windthorst ISD in 2002 and from Midwestern State University in 2007. I am the Family and Consumer Science Teacher, and FCCLA adviser.  I have three children, Saige, Daxton, and Dossen. My husband Mike and I enjoy watching, supporting, and cheering for them at all their events and squeezing in family vacays whenever we can. We also like to hang out with family and friends any chance we get. I love my work family and students and look forward to many more years with Windthorst ISD.

Hi! I am Cameron Berend and I am excited to be teaching 3rd grade math, science and social studies! This is my 15th year in education. I previously taught 3 years in Lake Worth and 12 years in Graham! I am married to Kyle Berend and we have two boys-Cannon (first grader) and Crawford (2 yrs old).

Hi! I’m Blaire Schreiber, and I am one of the Elementary Special Education teachers. I graduated from Midwestern State University in 2022 with a degree in Elementary Education. I am so excited to be teaching in Windthorst, which is where I grew up and went to school. I am looking forward to a great school year!

My wife, Heather, is a Teacher/Coach at Windthorst ISD and we have 3 kids: Jaxon, Aiden and Mason. I am a graduate of Texas State University and have completed 13 years in education including 13 years at Bowie ISD. I have taught Texas History and PE, coached Football, Basketball and Track at Bowie.

Howdy! My name is Mackenzie Haverland and this is my third year at Windthorst High School. I teach English II, English IV, English as a Second Language, and college English. I’m also the PALs sponsor, I coach the UIL Journalism events, and I serve on the district’s Mental Health Committee and the Secondary HRS Leadership Team. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with my husband, Kyle and our daughter, Corrie, (WHS class of 2039). Kyle and I are proud members of the 12th Man, and graduated from Texas A&M in 2018. I am currently finishing up my Master’s Degree in Education at the University of Louisiana-Shreveport, and will graduate in December. I’m happy to be here, and proud to be a Windthorst Trojanette. 

Hello! My name is Reesa Stubblefield. I live in Antelope, TX with my husband, Timmy. We have been married for 25 years and have 3 children, Carson (21), Tel (18), & Dayton (14). I enjoy summer trips to Colorado with my family. I worked for WISD for 8 years full time in the cafeteria and 2 years as a substitute. I am looking forward to being back full time as the high school receptionist.

Hello! My name is Karley Buerger. My husband, Scottie, and I currently live in Archer City  with our Golden Retriever Willow. I graduated from West Texas A&M University in 2014.  After graduation, I taught at Hereford ISD for 3 years before returning to this area to teach at Burkburnett.. When I am not lesson planning, I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping, and traveling. I am beyond excited and thankful to be teaching first grade in Windthorst. I enjoy investing in the students in our school and working with the amazing staff. Go Blue!

Hello, I am Karen Berend.  I began working at WISD in 2013 and work in the elementary MTSS
Math department where I love helping students grow. I graduated from Archer City in 1990 and
attended Vernon College. I am married to Rodney Berend (WHS ’86) and we have 3 daughters:
Mikayla, and twins Blakeley (WHS ’16) and Blair (WHS ’16). Mikayla (WHS ’12) and husband
Riley Schreiber (WHS ’11) are the parents to our 2 grandsons, Milo and Moxton.  When I am not
at school, you can find me spending time with my family, working in my yard and garden,
helping my husband daily on our cattle ranch and still working in my hair salon that I have
owned since 1994. I truly enjoy being a part of WISD.

Hello my name is Karen McCann and I am the 3rd grade Math, Science, and Social Studies teacher. 2022-2023 is my 12th year teaching in Windthorst. I graduated from WHS in 1995 – Go Big Blue! All 4 of my kids attend or have attended WISD too. I’ve been married to my husband  David since 1997 and we have successfully converted him to be a true Windthorstian as  well! I started working for WISD as a substitute teacher around 18 years ago when I was  a stay-at-home mom. I knew I wanted to be a teacher from about the age of 16 when my  high school Geometry teacher said she thought I’d be a good teacher after watching me  “teach” a lesson in class (btw, I stunk at math!) After a lot of living and growing, I graduated(finally!) in 2011 from Midwestern  State University—it was one of the most memorable days of my life. My first three years at  WISD I enjoyed working with the junior high and high school doing remediation, ESL, and  high school English until moving to 4th and 5th grade. I absolutely loved my 4th and 5th graders! The 2021 school year had another change in store for me as I moved to 3rd grade where I am finding I love the kids just as much! In  my free time when I’m not watching my kids in their endeavors, I love to read, spend time  outdoors on my patio or in my flowerbeds, and travel any chance I can. I consider myself  truly blessed to live and work in the community where God put me.

I am married to Brad and have one son, Carter Crain. I graduated from Midwestern State  University, as an Indian, in 2001. This school year starts my 18th year at Windthorst. I  started as the “band aide” and then became the administrative assistant to the  superintendent, before I came to Windthorst I was a teacher’s aide in Wichita Falls ISD  while going to college. I enjoying yelling at pep rallies and chasing after Brad and Carter  (WHS Senior 2013) and my favorite hobby is spending time with my family and friends.  Always say, “I love you.” One of my favorite quote is “Laughter is an instant vacation.”  ~Milton Berle

Hello, my name is Susan Veitenheimer and I am the school nurse for the district. I am currently in my 35th year at Windthorst ISD. I graduated high school in 1982 from Wichita Falls Old High. I attended the University of Tennessee for one year and then return to Wichita Falls to graduate from MSU with a degree in nursing.  I married Gerald Veitenheimer in 1985 and have been a member of the Windthorst community ever since. We have 5 children all of whom graduated from Windthorst ISD; Whitney (2006), Travis (2008) is married to Emily, Spencer (2011) and is married to Katie, Lucas (2012), and Owen (2014) married to Caitlin. We have 6 grandchildren that we enjoy spending time with whenever we can. Windthorst ISD is a wonderful district with staff that truly care about each and every student. They are my extended family and I am blessed to be a part of this school and community for so many years.

Hello, my name is Juhree Vaughn. I grew up just down the road in Bellevue, TX and attended Vernon College.  I started my position as business manager in the 1995-96 school year. I am married to Travis Vaughn. We have three children, Kayci (English Teacher), Kayla (Respiratory Therapist), and Trevor (Oklahoma Agriculture Extension Agent), and two grandchildren. Travis and I love to travel and have been blessed with the opportunity to work in the Texas Wine Industry with Marker Cellars.

Teaching is in my heart and soul. I am the daughter of two educators from Hickory Creek, Texas. In fact, three out of four of my parents’ children are all teachers. I graduated from Midwestern State University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (BSIS) degree. After graduation, I coached and taught P. E. for Lake Dallas I. S. D. (my alma mater) for a few years. I joined the Windthorst I. S. D. family in February 2003 and have taught kindergarten ever since. My husband, Shane, and I are always laughing and enjoying each other’s company. I love spending time with my family, traveling, and hiking. I am excited to instill a lifelong love of learning at
Windthorst I .S. D. on a daily basis.

Hi – I’m Diane Herndon and I am a High School English Teacher. This is my 4th year at WISD.  I graduated from Windthorst High School and Midwestern State University.  I have 4 kids- Brooke who lives and works in Plano, Sydney who is a sophomore at Tarleton State University, Hunter who is a senior at WHS – and Brady who is in 7th grade at Windthorst Junior High.  You’ll often find me at various Windthorst sporting events watching my Boys – or at Tarleton football games watching my daughter cheer for the Texans.   I love all of my 280+ Elementary Kiddos!!  I’m excited for a great year!!
