Hello, my name is Daniel Barton. After being self employed for 11 years, I decided it was time to return to the workforce. I have enjoyed my role in Operations and Maintenance at WISD, while continuing to operate my personal business on the side. My passion is helping people and being a problem solver, so what better place to be than WISD – where I get to see my kids daily, Adam (7th grade), Ellie (4th grade) and Lyla (Kinder). Me and my wife, Jenny (WISD class of 2000), are very active in our kids’ extracurricular activities, school organizations, and Church. We are currently in the sweet spot of life and enjoy watching our kiddos and all their friends live their best life!

Hello, I am Karen Berend and this school year starts my 7th year at WISD. I graduated from Archer City in 1990 and attended Vernon College. I am in the elementary RTI math department. I have been married to Rodney Berend (WHS ’86) for 28 years and we have 3 daughters: Mikayla , and twins Blakeley and Blair. Mikayla (WHS ’12) and husband Riley Schreiber(WHS ’11) are the parents to our first grandson, Milo Jax. Blakeley (WHS ’16) is attending MSU pursuing an Exercise Physiology degree and will graduate May 2020. Blair (WHS ‘16) is also attending MSU pursuing a Marketing degree and will graduate May 2020. Blair and her fiancé, Trace, will be married May 2020. When I am not at school, you can find me spending time with my family, helping my husband daily at our dairy and I still work at my hair salon that I have owned since 1994. I truly enjoy being a part of WISD.

After graduating from Windthorst ISD in 2007, I am very excited to be back as a teacher for the 21-22 school year! I graduated from Midwestern State University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies degree in 4-8 English Language Arts and Reading, and in 2016 I graduated from Texas A&M with a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction. My husband, Tyler, and I enjoy spending time with each other and friends, and we often can be found at local community events all around the area. I also love spending time with my family, watching classic movies, and learning about photography. I can’t wait to start a great year at WISD!

Hello my name is Madaline Schreiber. I’m excited to join the elementary team as the 1st grade reading/ELA teacher. This upcoming school year will start my second year in education. After I graduated from MSU In May of 2019 I taught at Petrolia elementary as the 1st grade teacher. I am a 2014 graduate of Holliday High School. My husband Colin is a 2010 graduate of WISD. We have been married for 3 years in August and have one son named Colt who was born in October.

Hi, my name is Shelby Wolf. I graduated from Windthorst High School in 2004 and Texas A&M University in 2008. I started teaching in 2012, and I am very excited to be coming home to teach at Windthorst. I have been married to Ross for 10 years, and we have two children. Barrett will be in 3rd grade and Emma will be in 1st grade. In my free time, I enjoy reading, gardening, and watching my kids play sports. I am looking forward to a great year at Windthorst ISD!

Hi, my name is Allison Bussey. I am a graduate of Windthorst High School and attended college at Midwestern State University. This is my 5th year teaching at Windthorst. I teach 6th grade math along with several PE classes. I also coach volleyball, basketball, and track. My husband’s name is Jake, and we have 3 daughters: Karsyn (6), Kendall (5), and Khyler (7 months).
Meet Ana Larios. Ana graduated from Windthorst HS in 1997 and has worked for WISD for 19 year as a teacher’s aide. Ana and her husband, Mauricio, have been married for 19 years and live in Scotland, Texas. Ana enjoys working at school and in her spare time she enjoys drawing and working in her garden. We are lucky to have Ana as part of our team here at Windthorst ISD.
Meet Dennis Koetter. Dennis has worked for WISD for 21 years as the Maintenance and Transportation Director. Dennis graduated from WHS in 1973. Prior to working at Windthorst ISD, he worked for Berend Bros for 25 yrs. Dennis and his wife, Linda, live in Archer City. We are lucky to have Dennis here at Windthorst ISD as he keeps our school and buses running.

Meet Ann Bugarin Cabrera. Ann works in the maintenance department and keeps the elementary building running and clean. Ann lives in Antelope, TX. Ann has been at Windthorst ISD for 7 years. Ann’s favorite part of her job is being around the kids and staff every day. Ann is an important part of our team here at Windthorst ISD.
My name is Rita Sierra. I am from Wichita Falls. I graduated from Old High. ’98. Moved here in 2013 . I am married to Miguel Colchado. We have 4 children and another on the way. Dec 28th. 3 kids come to Windthorst. Angelina is in 10th grade , Miguel is in 6th grade, and Neveda is in 4th grade. Pablo is 1 yrs old. In my free time Love to spend time with my family. My time is spent with them at home watching movies, dancing , or karaoke. Playing board games as a family. Shopping and just hanging out. I have worked here in cafeteria for 3 yrs.

My name is Melanie Beisch and I currently teach Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy and Physiology and Forensics. I also serve as the UIL coordinator and the NHS sponsor. This is my 11th year at Windthorst and my 31st year of teaching. I previously taught 20 years at Zundy Junior High. I graduated from MSU with my bachelor’s and master’s degree. Rusty and I have been married for 31 years and have 2 children Emily Kirk (’12) works for Colorado Parks and Wildlife and Alec (’16) works for WISD in the technology department. In my spare time I like to read, support the Trojans and Trojanettes, and travel.
Hi, my name is Stacey Steinberger and this is my second year at Windthorst ISD. I graduated from here in 1989 and earned a Marketing Degree at Midwestern State University in 1993. I am employed in the school cafeteria. I have been married to Chad Steinberger (WHS ’90) for 25 years and we have four boys.
Garrett (WHS ’14) graduated from Texas A&M in 2018 and resides in College Station. He is engaged to be married to Jordyn Senkirik and they plan to wed in 2020. I am so excited to finally be getting a daughter! Gage (WHS ’17) received his certification in Farm & Ranch Management from VRJC and lives in Windthorst. Gavin is a Senior and Grayson is a Freshman here at WISD.
A few things I enjoy are attending all my kids’ activities, baking, taking long walks and hanging out with friends and family.

This is my 4th year at Windthorst ISD and my 7th year teaching and coaching. I am the Head Basketball and Golf coach, but also assist in Football and Track. My wife Haley is a teacher and the tennis coach at Archer City. Together we have two sons, Gage who will be 3 this November, and Gannon who was born this past August. I am a 2009 graduate of Holliday High School and a 2013 graduate of Midwestern State University. I will be teaching computers this year after having taught History the past 6 years. Hello! Meet Scotty and Kim Lofland. He’s been a high school coach and has been teaching 4th/5th grades in Windthorst since 2006, and she’s been teaching Pre-K and first grade since 2009. He graduated high school in Holliday, and she graduated from Rider in Wichita Falls. They both graduated from MSU. They’ve been married for 24 years and have 2 boys, Tim and Ben. Tim graduated from Windthorst in 2018, and Ben graduated in 2021. In their spare time, he likes to drag her birdwatching, and she likes to drag him into house renovations.
Hello I am Leann Berend Hoff and I married Tom Hoff in November of 81after we both graduated from WIndthorst High School in 1980! We have 3 successful children that graduated from WIndthorst High school as well , Aaron Hoff, Miranda Hoff Rice and Emily Hoff Grotelueschen and have all went on to further their education and graduated from Texas A&M and Midwestern State University and their spouses as well have graduated from A&M!
We have one granddaughter, Ellie Grotelueschen and four grandsons, Wyatt Grotelueschen, Matthew Bexar Rice, Colton Grotelueschen and Baby Grotelueschen due the end of December. We love traveling and doing things with our grand kids! Did not know life with grandkids would be so GREAT ♥️ I work in the Windthorst ISD school cafeteria. Hey, my name is Sharla Wadsworth. I graduated from Windthorst ISD in 2002 and from Midwestern State University in 2007. I am the Family and Consumer Science Teacher, and FCCLA adviser. I have three children, Saige, Daxton, and Dossen. My husband Mike and I enjoy watching, supporting, and cheering for them at all their events and squeezing in family vacays whenever we can. Their son Kyle is in Kindergarten and daughter Kenna is in Pre-K. Taylor and Tamara live in Wichita Falls with their 2 year old, Forrest. Caleb is engaged to Ashley. Gage is a sophomore and Megg is a 7th grader. I graduated from WIndthorst High School and the University of North Texas. This is my 13th year of teaching- 10 teaching 4th-5th Science at Windthorst and 3 at Bowie Junior High. During my free time I like to watch my kids play sports and be with the grandkids.
Mary Beth Simpson
I’m a graduate from Midwestern State University. My degree is Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (Grades 1-8). I am certified in Early Childhood and ESL. Most of you know me as the Pre-K teacher at Windthorst ISD. For years I have taught Pre-Kindergarten and dyslexia classes. This school year 2019-2020, I will be working only part-time as a dyslexia therapist. I received my dyslexia training in a two year program at the Scottish Rite Learning Center of West Texas in Lubbock, Texas in 2009. I am certified as an Academic Language Therapist, and a licensed Dyslexia Therapist. The curriculum I teach is “Take Flight”, which is a comprehensive intervention program for students with dyslexia.

Hello, my name is Susan Veitenheimer and I am the school nurse for the district. I am currently in my 34th year at Windthorst ISD. I graduated high school in 1982 from Wichita Falls Old High. I attended the University of Tennessee for one year and then return to Wichita Falls to graduate from MSU with a degree in nursing. I have worked through the years at both General Hospital and United Regional (Bethania) in addition to working at Windthorst ISD. I also currently work part time as a nurse at Kell West Hospital on weekends and holidays. I married Gerald Veitenheimer in 1985 and have been a member of the Windthorst community ever since. We have 5 children all of whom graduated from Windthorst ISD; Whitney (2006), Travis (2008) is married to Emily, Spencer (2011) and is married to Katie, Lucas (2012), and Owen (2014) We have 6 grandchildren that we enjoy spending time with whenever we can. Windthorst ISD is a wonderful district with staff that truly care about each and every student. They are my extended family and I am blessed to be a part of this school and community for so many years.

Hi! I am a Windthorst native farm girl! I grew up on a dairy farm and learned the work ethic there. I am a 1983 graduate of Windthorst High School and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Education at MSU in 1988. My husband, Robert and I have been married 35 years. We have three children- Faryn Westmoreland, Carmen Stallcup and Dylan Stallcup. We have seven grandkids and one on the way. This is my 31st year in education. I have taught 30 years in the classroom and 1 year at North Texas Rehab in the Early Childhood Program. I am now enjoying 2nd generation students!!! I love my job of teaching 11- 14 year olds and when people ask … how do you do that? I say… well, the middle school kids are like mini- adults, yet they are still children at heart. Science is my passion. I love nature and teaching kids about how the world works. My philosophy is to have fun while learning all about our world. I like to incorporate hands-on learning and creativity along with critical thinking! When not at school or at a ballgame, I love to spend time with family, especially the grands. Hello, I am Lavern Lindemann. I am starting my 30th year at WISD. In 1990, I began work as a kindergarten aide, helped with the Big Blue Band for 11 years, as well as serving the students with reading interventions. My husband, Wayne, and I are WHS graduates (1973) as well as all three of our children. Melanie (1994) owns Wolf Insurance Agency, Karen (1998) is employed at Region 9 ESC with the Head Start Program, and Matt (2001) owns Windthorst Tire. We have 6 grandchildren that keep us busy with all their activities and events. I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family, and relaxing at the lake. WISD is a great place to work, and my coworkers are my second family.

I am starting my 14th year as a Teacher/coach. I graduated from Texas Tech University in 2008. In December 2021 I will be receiving my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin University. I am coming from Electra HS where I served as the Spanish teacher / assistant football / Head baseball coach. I was previously at Everman High School in Fort Worth, Lubbock-Cooper HS and Menard HS where I also taught Spanish and coached football and baseball. We have 3 kids. Hayden is 13 and in the 7th grade, Hanley is 9 and in the 4th grade and Micah joined our family March 11, 2021. We enjoy watching our kids play sports, cooking out and spending time with family. Hayden plays football, basketball and baseball and Hanley plays volleyball, basketball and softball. We are very excited to be a part of the Windthorst Trojans Family!

Howdy! My name is Mackenzie Haverland and this is my third year at Windthorst High School. I teach English II, English IV, English as a Second Language, and college English. I’m also the PALs sponsor, I coach the UIL Journalism events, and I serve on the district’s Mental Health Committee and the Secondary HRS Leadership Team. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with my husband, Kyle and our daughter, Corrie, (WHS class of 2039). Kyle and I are proud members of the 12th Man, and graduated from Texas A&M in 2018. I am currently finishing up my Master’s Degree in Education at the University of Louisiana-Shreveport, and will graduate in December. I’m happy to be here, and proud to be a Windthorst Trojanette.

Hello! My name is Karley Buerger. My husband, Scottie, and I currently live in Archer City with our Golden Retriever Willow. I graduated from West Texas A&M University in 2014. After graduation, I taught at Hereford ISD for 3 years before returning to this area to teach at Burkburnett.. When I am not lesson planning, I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping, and traveling. I am beyond excited and thankful to be teaching first grade in Windthorst. Hayden is 11 and will be in 5th grade. Hanley is 7 and will be in 2nd grade. They both are very active in sports. We enjoy our lives as a coaching family and are excited to be a part of the Windthorst community.

Hello !!! My name is Mary Blagg. Many of you already know me since Windthorst/Scotland is the place I have called home for over 50 years. I graduated from WISD (‘87) and MSU (‘92). I spent the first 5 years of my teaching career in Wichita Falls and the remaining in Windthorst. That being said, I am very excited to be in my 30th year of education and my 14th year in Kindergarten. The Kindergarteners that I have worked with over the past years have taught me as much as I have taught them. My favorite lesson which I have shared with many of you is… to believe… to be a dreamer… Unicorns are real. My husband, David, and I have three sons. Austin who works for us at Current Utility Services, LLC constructing power lines, Avery who is the Teacher/Coach at Anson ISD, and Awtry who is a. student/football player at MSU.

Hello my name is Karen McCann and I am the 3rd grade Math, Science and Social Studies teacher. 2021-2022 is my 11th year teaching in Windthorst. I graduated from WHS in 1995 – Go Big Blue! All 4 of my kids attend or have attended WISD too. Emily – Senior 2017, Nathan –Senior 2021, Thomas is a Junior, and Savannah is an 8th grader. I’ve been married to my husband David since 1997 and we have successfully converted him to be a true Windthorstian as well! I started working for WISD as a substitute teacher around 18 years ago when I was a stay-at-home mom. I knew I wanted to be a teacher from about the age of 16 when my high school Geometry teacher said she thought I’d be a good teacher after watching me “teach” a lesson in class (btw, I stunk at math!) After the birth of my 4th child, my mom encouraged me to go back to college and finish my degree and so I did (if you know my mom, you know she won’t take no for an answer)! I graduated in 2011 from Midwestern State University, one of the most memorable days of my life. My first three years at WISD I enjoyed working with the junior high and high school doing remediation, ESL, and high school English until moving to 5th grade. I absolutely loved my 4th and 5th graders! The 2021 school year had another change in store for me as I moved to 3rd grade where I am finding I love the kids just as much! In my free time when I’m not watching my kids in their endeavors, I love to read, spend time outdoors on my patio or in my flowerbeds and travel any chance I can. I consider myself truly blessed to live and work in the community where God put me.
I am married to Brad and have one son, Carter Crain. I graduated from Midwestern State University, as an Indian, in 2001. This school year starts my 18th year at Windthorst. I started as the “band aide” and then became the administrative assistant to the superintendent, before I came to Windthorst I was a teacher’s aide in Wichita Falls ISD while going to college. I enjoying yelling at pep rallies and chasing after Brad and Carter (WHS Senior 2013) and my favorite hobby is spending time with my family and friends. Hi! My name is Tracy Schreiber. I have lived my entire life in Windthorst. I graduated college from Midwestern State (1995) and have been teaching at Windthorst ISD for 27 years, with 26 of those years teaching junior high math. I took a huge leap this year and am now teaching high school Alg 1 and Alg 2. I have been married to my husband Daniel for 31 years and we have 5 wonderful children. Colin and his wife Maddie, (They have blessed me with being “Mimi” to the most wonderful grandson EVER!) Chase and his wife Megan, Brooke and her fiancé Ryan, Blaire and Conner. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, walking and attending lots and lots of sporting events. I am so proud and honored to be part of such a wonderful community and school. Go Big Blue!!!
I’m a 2007 Graduate from Windthorst High School. I have worked in healthcare as a Nurse Tech for the last 11 years. This will be my first year as a Teachers Aide. Brad and I have lived in Windthorst for the last 5 years and we have four children. Lane, Payton, Landyn, and Audrey. I’m excited to be apart of this school year!

Hi! My name is Pam Wolf. I am starting my 17th year of teaching here at Windthorst Elementary. I teach 2nd Grade Math, Science, & Social Studies. I am a 1987 Graduate of WISD. After having 3 boys, I started college at Midwestern State University. I graduated in 2002 and had my 4th son that fall! I have been married for 31 years to Lloyd Wolf Jr. We have 4 wonderful sons and 3 sweet grandchildren! Waylon lives in Aledo and works for Matador Resources. He is married to Alyson and have our 2nd granddaughter, Lyla (9 months). Travis also lives in Aledo and works for Matador Resources. He is married to Rachel and have our oldest granddaughter, Scarlett (14 months). They are expecting our 4th grandchild in December! Clayton works for Tubing Testers. He is married to Sydney and have our 1st grandson, Quentin (5 months). Our youngest son, Kyle is 17 years old and is a Junior at Windthorst High School. He keeps us busy playing football and baseball. I love teaching at Windthorst ISD and I am glad that I have been able to influence lives in my hometown!
Teaching is in my heart and soul. I am the daughter of two educators from Hickory Creek, Texas. In fact, three out of four of my parents’ children are all teachers. I graduated from Midwestern State University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (BSIS) degree. After graduation, I coached and taught P. E. for Lake Dallas I. S. D. (my alma mater) for a few years. I joined the Windthorst I. S. D. family in February 2003 and have taught kindergarten ever since. My husband, Shane, and I are always laughing and enjoying each other’s company. I love spending time with my family, traveling, and hiking. I am excited to instill a lifelong love of learning at

My name is Brittany Wolf. This is my 13th year of teaching and my 4th year at Windthorst. I teach ELAR and SS to 4th grade. I have been married to Josh for 6 years. Josh and I have two of the best little boys in the world. Luke is 5 and in Pre K, and Beau is 2 1/2 months. I’m so thankful to be at Windthorst. I can’t think of a better place to teach, live and raise my kids.
Hi – I’m Diane Herndon, Windthorst Elementary Secretary. This is my 4th year at WISD. I graduated from Windthorst High School and Midwestern State University. I have 4 kids- Brooke who lives and works in Plano, Sydney who is a sophomore at Tarleton State University, Hunter who is a senior at WHS – and Brady who is in 7th grade at Windthorst Junior High. You’ll often find me at various Windthorst sporting events watching my Boys – or at Tarleton football games watching my daughter cheer for the Texans. I love all of my 280+ Elementary Kiddos!! Hello, my name is Juhree Vaughn. I grew up just down the road in Bellevue, TX and attended Vernon College. I started my position as business manager in the 1995-96 school year. I am married to Travis Vaughn. We have three children, Kayci (English Teacher), Kayla (Respiratory Therapist), and Trevor (Oklahoma Agriculture Extension Agent), and two grandchildren. Hello! My name is Reesa Stubblefield. I live in Antelope, TX with my husband, Timmy. We have been married for 25 years and have 3 children, Carson (21), Tel (18), & Dayton (14). I enjoy summer trips to Colorado with my family. I worked for WISD for 8 years full time in the cafeteria and 2 years as a substitute. I am looking forward to being back full time as the high school receptionist.
Hello! My name is Judy Hale (formerly Judy Cannedy) and I am the Band Director for Windthorst ISD. I currently teach grades 5-12 band and 6th grade technology. I taught at Midwestern State University for 6 years prior to starting my public education career, now in my 22nd year! This is my second stretch at Windthorst. I began my career here in 1998 and taught until 2005. After leaving Windthorst I served as the head director for Wichita Falls High School, Throckmorton, Bremond, Granger and then Mart before I found my way back “home” again! I graduated from Hirschi High School in 1983, Midwestern State University in 1990, and completed my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership in 2015 at the University of Texas at Tyler. My husband Mark and I are newlyweds and we have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. Paige is married to Anthony and lives in Wichita Falls where she teaches and is working on completing her Master’s Degree in Biology. Jordan is married to Sarah and lives in New Jersey and has one daughter, Hannah. He and his wife are both Paramedics. Savannah is married to Brad and has four children: Lane, Landyn, Audrey and Peyton. She is a teacher’s aide here at Windthorst. Will is a deputy with the Young County Sheriff’s Department. He has one son, Sterling. When not working I love to read, study and learn more about God and my faith, I love spending time with my family camping and fishing, and I also have a passion for cars and classic rock music (which go hand in hand on a sunny afternoon!).
